About Me

My name is Bill and I love commercials. Back in the 70’s and 80’s, and to an extent, the early 90’s, they had such a corniness to them, that made them distinctly from that era. Growing up in the 80’s, I have a strong attachment to them.

I’ve been looking for the Sizzlean commercial for a while and can’t find it. “Move over bacon, here comes something meatier.”

  4. looking for the old Burger King commercial from the mid 70’s featuring a kid named “Hubble McQubble”..(or something like that) who would always twice for “double meat, double meat” on his BK burgers….

    • . I went to school with him in ridgewood, N.J. in the early 70’s before his family relocated to fla. His name is jeff zarcone. I can’t find the commercial on you tube. Do u know where i can find it?

  5. LozerBoozer, I looked on Youtube, Google, and other sites, but couldn’t find it. If I do, I’ll let you know!

  6. Hydrox came before Oreo by 3 years, introduced in 1908. At one time Hydroz outsold Oreo by 10 to 1 or more in most markets. Sunshine failed to grasp the impact and power of television in the 60s and faded from a fortune 500 member to oblivion. The singer in the commercial was in fact Sammy, not an impersonator.

  7. I love your site – I do a retro pop culture blog on yesterday vs. today and commercials are a big part of pop culture aren’t they?

  8. I have created a website similar to yours for the UK and Ireland region. I was wondering would you link to me and I to you?

  9. Hi there,

  11. LozerBoozer, I seem to remember it being “Hubble Q Hubble”, they said something like “Hubble Q Hubble said everything double” on the commercials. One of my friends at the time looked like the kid and we call him Hubble to this day.

  12. I just discovered your site, and love it! And like you, I love memorable commercial jingles, and commercials in general.
    Thanks for the memories!

  13. looking for the “lisa catera” caddy commercial….

  14. TV Ad Trivia Geek

I think I remember exactly how the commercial begins. Why I don’t know, but here goes:

Narrator: “Hubble Q. Hubble said everything double.”

HQH: “Double meat, double meat. Great to eat, great to eat. Without costing twice as much more, without costing twice as much more.”

  15. hmm you need to optimize the site for google ranking .. i see it doesn’t get many hits.. or people arent posting here lol

  16. Sunshine still makes Cheese It’s

  18. Hi there everybody, here every one is sharing such familiarity, thus it’s pleasant to read this webpage, and I used to pay a visit this website daily.

  19. Hubble Q. Hubble said everything double,
repeating each word he would say.
    “Double meat! Double meat!”
    he was heard to repeat
at the Burger King counter one day.

That stupid commercial has been stuck in my head for over 40 years. I saw something about retro TV commercials online and it was one that popped into my head, so I searched it to see if it was online if for no other reason than to confirm I didn’t imagine it. That brought me here, and I see by reading the comments that other people remember it, too. So yay, I didn’t just imagine it all of these years.
